US & Canada TikTok LIVE Market Report

Last updated 13 July 2026. Figures are drawn from 2025 and 2026 reporting.

North America is one of the largest TikTok LIVE markets in the world. This report pulls together audience size, gifting behavior, creator revenue ranges, and timing benchmarks for the United States and Canada in 2026, drawn from public sources including DataReportal, Momentum Works, Ipsos, and InfluencerFee.

1. The overall market

The US is the anchor of the North American market by sheer scale, and Canada adds the fastest-growing audience in the region. In both countries TikTok's adult audience runs slightly male, which is unusual for the platform and opens every content vertical without a structural lean.

Canada's adult TikTok audience is growing far faster than the US audience in percentage terms, up 36.4 percent year over year against 11.0 percent in the US, so even a smaller population supports a serious LIVE scene. The audience also skews young, concentrated in the prime gifting years.

2. The creator economy

Gifting is the engine of LIVE income, and in North America it now supports a meaningful number of working creators. An Ipsos study for TikTok estimated that in 2025 more than 60,000 US LIVE creators would earn more from gifts than the median part-time monthly income.

What creators earn from gifting

Gift income is highly variable, and an engaged community often outperforms a bigger but passive following. As a rough guide, published per-session and monthly ranges by follower tier look like this.

Follower tierGift revenue per LIVEMonthly potential (8 LIVEs)
Nano (1K to 10K)$5 to $40$40 to $320
Micro (10K to 100K)$40 to $250$320 to $2,000
Mid-tier (100K to 500K)$250 to $1,200$2,000 to $9,600
Macro (500K to 1M)$1,200 to $4,000$9,600 to $32,000
Mega (1M+)$4,000 to $25,000+$32,000 to $200,000+

On the creator side, a Diamond is worth about $0.005 to $0.007 after TikTok keeps roughly half of the gift value. To see how many days it takes to reach a target tier at a given daily pace, use the Rank-Up Calculator.

3. Performance benchmarks

A few numbers help a creator judge what a LIVE is worth and where the money is moving.

Live commerce is a growing slice of TikTok Shop, so selling products in the same session is now a real second revenue stream alongside gifts. On timing, evenings in your audience's own timezone, roughly 7 to 11 PM, tend to be the strongest gifting window, so a consistent slot inside it usually matters more than raw hours streamed.

4. What this means for creators

Reading the market

  • Scale favors the US, growth favors Canada. The US offers the largest gifter pool, while Canada is adding audience faster, which can mean less crowded rooms for creators who start now.
  • Timing is a lever. The evening window carries most of the gifting, so a consistent slot inside it matters more than raw hours.
  • Compliance is not optional. US creators work under rules like COPPA and FTC disclosure standards. Keeping minors off screen and labeling paid promotion protects both the account and the income.
  • Diversify. The revenue data rewards creators who combine gifts, TikTok Shop, and off-platform income rather than relying on a single source.
